Overview
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel) | Olathe, Kansas | Start August 2, 2026 | 13-week assignment | $2,072-$2,166 per week | 0 guaranteed hours | Shift: 3x12 rotating | Short Term Acute Care Hospital ED
This travel RN position is in an ED serving a busy, community-based population with chest pain and primary stroke center capabilities. The assignment requires strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability to fluctuating patient volumes and acuity.
Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,072-$2,166 per week

- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 rotating (evenings and nights)
- Start date:
August 2, 2026 - Work setting: 29-bed ED in a short-term acute care setting; chest pain and primary stroke center
- Perform comprehensive triage, initial assessment, and ongoing monitoring of ED patients
- Administer medications and IV therapies; manage pain, agitation, and sedation per protocol
- Provide evidence‑based care for chest pain and suspected stroke patients; initiate rapid stroke or cardiac pathways as indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely patient flow and disposition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record; ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Support inpatient boarders as needed and adapt to changing patient volumes and priorities
- Current RN license in Kansas or a multi-state license valid for the assignment
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and Conscious Sedation Competency (preferred TNCC) - Experience:
minimum 1 year of ED experience within the last 12 months; 2+ years ED experience preferred - Ability to work in an ED setting with the capacity to handle inpatient boarders and rapid changes in patient acuity
- Comfort working evenings/nights; capable of meeting unit needs, including up to 3 weekend shifts per pay period
- Credentialing readiness: CBC, DS, and lab work completed within 72 hours of offer; orientation process as outlined
- Orientation: 8 hours non-billable orientation; structured onboarding process
- Pay schedule: bi-weekly pay periods
- Timekeeping: UKG system for time and attendance
- Facility requirements: nicotine‑free work environment
- Assignment support: dedicated account manager to coordinate credentialing and onboarding
- Scheduling flexibility: up to 3 weekend shifts per pay period per unit needs
- Cancellation policy: client may cancel one shift per 2‑week pay period with no cost to the employee and no pay deduction, with a minimum 2‑hour notice
- Credentialing and onboarding assistance to meet deadlines
