Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site Emergency Room Nurse role is located in Topeka, KS. The Emergency Department Nurse provides direct, evidence‑based patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department, including triage, assessment, intervention, and ongoing evaluation of patients with a wide range of acute conditions. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and patient status, and responding to emergent situations.

The role also involves educating patients and families, documenting care accurately, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards. This position requires flexibility with shifts, strong clinical judgment, and calm, effective performance under pressure.

Qualifications
  • Strong clinical skills in Emergency Nursing and Critical Care Medicine to manage acute and complex conditions.
  • Solid foundation in Nursing practice and Medicine to deliver safe, evidence‑based care.
  • Demonstrated excellence in Patient Care, including assessment, intervention, and patient/family education.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications;
    Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Previous emergency department or critical care experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high‑acuity, team‑based environment with strong communication and decision‑making skills.
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN); BSN preferred.
