RN - PCU

Registered Nurse (RN)

Scheduled Details:

• 12-hour Night Shifts
• Schedule:
  
  , three shifts per week

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs
• Ability to operate independently without a vascular access team
• Experience calling on own consults and conducting own codes
• Open-heart experience (Day 2 or Day
  3) with pacer wires
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 at maximum

License and Certification Requirements:

• Current Kansas RN License or Compact RN License
• BLS and ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Floating Requirements:

Must be willing to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED with prior experience.

Weekend Requirements:

Every other weekend required.

Holiday Requirement:

Travelers must work one holiday from each group:
Thanksgiving Eve or Day, Christmas Eve or Day, or New Year's Eve or Day, based on unit needs.

Orientation Requirements:

• Attend the first two days of orientation at the main campus
• Day 3:
  Attend unit-specific orientation
• Day 4:
  Participate in Director of Nursing training
• Day 5:
  Complete virtual Epic training

Additional Notes:

• This is a nicotine-free facility.
• Orientation includes 8 hours of non-billable time.
• The current electronic medical record system is EPIC.
• Bi-weekly pay periods with specific shift cancellation policies.
• A minimum of 2-hour notice for shift cancellations is required.
