Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Class/Area: RN / Emergency Room
• Shift: 12-hour Nights; , 3 shifts per week

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year experience in the Emergency Department within the last 12 months.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Valid RN License in Kansas or Multi-State License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Conscious Sedation Competency

Additional Certification Preferred:

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Responsibilities:

Work in a 29-bed Emergency Department serving the southern half of Johnson County, handling daily patient volumes of approximately 120. Provide care for inpatient boarders as needed. Maintain adaptability to rapidly changing conditions and uphold a positive attitude while ensuring patient safety and quality care. Ratios may vary from 3:1 to 4:1 as necessary.

Weekend Requirements:

Available to work up to 3 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per pay period.

Holiday Requirement:

Travelers are expected to work one holiday from each group:
Thanksgiving Eve or Day, Christmas Eve or Day, New Year's Eve or Day, based on unit needs.

Orientation Requirements:

• Days 1-2:
  Orientation at designated location
• Day 3:
  Specific orientation and training
• Day 4:
  Continued training
• Day 5:
  Virtual training on Epic system

Additional Information:

This facility maintains a nicotine-free policy. There is an 8-hour non-billable orientation. Timekeeping will be managed through UKG with a bi-weekly pay period.
