JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES
You are responsible for everything that happens during your shift. This includes cost control, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations. You must set the example, follow all policy and procedures at 100% and expect the same from your crew.
Additional responsibilities: staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, schedule compliance, image and standards adherence, customer service, attendance & punctuality, transportation to/from work, store cleanliness, marketing, profitability.
ADVANCEMENT
Many team members began as delivery drivers and now own franchises. Advancement opportunities exist from Assistant Manager to General Manager, to Franchisee, or to Corporate Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / SKILLS
- Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide (may use a calculator).
- Prepare correct monetary change.
- Take and process orders verbally and in writing, with precise typing and phone skills.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigate local maps and address locations within the delivery area.
- Work safely in adverse terrain while carrying products.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders.
WORK CONDITIONS
EXPOSURE TO
- Adverse weather during outside tasks.
- Temperature range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in warm areas.
- Sudden temperature changes in or outside the store.
- Fumes from food and cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, including the walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces or tools up to 500°F.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Road delivery conditions.
TEMPERAMENTS
The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, interact with people, analyze, and make judgmental decisions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing:
Most tasks are performed standing; work surfaces are between 36—8 inches high. - Walking:
Deliver personnel must travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations. - Lifting:
Bulk deliveries up to 50 pounds (est. dimensions 3—1.5‘) are unloaded by a hand truck. - Carrying:
Large cans (approx. 3.25 pounds) and pizza sauce (approx. 30 pounds) are moved between stations. - Push/Pull:
Trays on dollies up to 24–30 inches require up to 7.5 pounds of push force. - Climbing:
Occasional navigation of stairs or ladders. - Stooping/Bending:
Forward bending at the pizza assembly station for 30–45 seconds repeated during the day. - Crouching/Squatting:
Occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas. - Reaching:
Continuous reaching above 72 inches for oven controls, price updates, stocking, and dishwashing tasks. - Driving:
Deliver pizzas and flyers to customers in a designated delivery area. Multiple deliveries per shift may be required.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS
Team members use pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculators, and pizza utensils such as cutters and peels.
DRIVING SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
