Position OverviewReporting to the Global Biotech Commercial Director, this role is responsible for territory sales to manufacturers of probiotics, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic media, and other biotech applications. This high‑impact role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic sales acumen, and market development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with strategic goals
- Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with clients
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and collaborations
- Provide technical consultation and product positioning support
- Capture and relay market intelligence and competitive insights
- Manage leads and opportunities via CRM (Dynamics 365)
- Align pricing strategies with group guidelines and negotiate effectively
- Represent Lallemand at trade shows and industry events
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and R&D
- Deliver on sales targets and margin objectives
- Prepare annual budgets and analyze sales performance
- Support client forecasting and order fulfillment processes
- Technical/Scientific education with a degree in microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related disciplines
- 3+ years commercial experience (sales, account management, or similar) ideally in industrial fermentation or other biotechnology fields
- Interpersonal/client relationship – communication, listening, and influencing skills
- Self‑motivated, organized, and results‑driven
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable navigating complex technical discussions with clients
- Valid passport, up to 40% travel (occasionally international for internal meetings, conferences, and other industry events as required)
