Job Summary: The Parts and Service Sales Representative (PSSR) will be responsible for growing parts and service sales within the Crane Works Sales and Service Area. The PSSR is a field sales position that will attain a satisfactory service and parts sales volume for an assigned customer list while maintaining accurate marketing information within a CRM business system. The PSSR will promote and sell product support offerings to the assigned territory customer base, identify and establish new revenue opportunities, and grow existing customer‑based accounts through marketing strategies.
The position requires effective work in a fast‑paced environment and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Establishes and maintains customer relationships.
- Markets and sells the value of parts and service.
- Finds new markets, customers, and applications within territory.
- Develops knowledge of competitive products and suppliers.
- Provides input on annual forecasts for territory potential.
- Resolves customer issues.
- Works with Parts and Service Managers on goals and marketing ideas.
- Provides customers with information to manage their equipment at the lowest cost per hour.
- Keeps accurate customer records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of sales experience in construction machinery, heavy equipment or automotive industry.
- Excellent organizational, influence and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening and presentation.
- Strong customer service and prospecting skills with a professional and consultative approach.
- Excellent leadership skills – decision making, creative thinking and goal setting.
- Occasional physical requirements such as sitting, climbing, balancing, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Good driving record.
- Basic knowledge of engine, hydraulic and electric systems and fleet maintenance.
- Ability to multi‑task and work quickly and accurately.
- Team player with high customer service focus.
- Four‑year college degree in Business/Marketing preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and basic industry‑specific PC programs.
