As a Field Sales Veterinary Diagnostic Consultant (VDC), you will work on the front lines to build strong relationships with Veterinary customers and help sell IDEXX’s medical device diagnostics portfolio of products.

Responsibilities
  • Engage customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions, and educational opportunities about IDEXX products.
  • Use consultative selling techniques to translate customer needs into diagnostic solutions.
  • Independently manage your territory and customer base to increase recurring diagnostic revenue and meet quarterly medical device equipment sales targets.
  • Drive utilization of in‑house diagnostic tests, assays, instrument consumables, and reference laboratory profiles among your customers.
  • Collaborate and co‑sell with other IDEXX sales professionals to close capital equipment and technology deals.
  • Educate and train veterinary clinic staff about products, services, and marketing initiatives, and assist with customer service.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of IDEXX’s products and services.
  • Communicate customer needs, wants, and competitive issues to the marketing organization and your business unit manager.
  • Partner with laboratory operations to ensure customer questions and service issues are addressed and resolved.
  • Present IDEXX’s values to customers in a professional manner, understanding industry, veterinary practice, technology, operations, and processes.
  • Attend trade shows and other educational events in the region.
  • Manage IDEXX expenses and resources in line with company guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of proven experience managing an outside sales territory.
  • Experience in the veterinary/animal health industry, human healthcare, medical device sales, dental device sales, or capital equipment sales.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory (company car provided), including overnight stays, occasional weekend trips, and trade shows.
  • Capacity to lift up to 60 pounds and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Comfortable working in veterinary clinic and hospital environments.
  • Residence within or willingness to relocate to the Topeka, KS territory (greater Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan areas).

  • Competitive Base Salary $85,000 – $105,000, flexible based on experience.
