Commerce Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to serve customers in a retail banking role at our 159th and Mur‑Len location. The role focuses on building long‑lasting relationships, identifying financial needs, and providing solutions through a range of retail products and digital services. The position supports the bank’s commitment to customer service and community impact.
Responsibilities- Deliver an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone to meet financial needs.
- Actively listen, understand, and make appropriate recommendations that match each customer’s needs.
- Educate customers on a variety of retail products and digital solutions that improve financial wellness.
- Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently while complying with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish relationships with internal departments and refer customers to bank specialists when complex needs are identified.
- Earn additional pay through a quarterly incentive program based on meeting personal and branch sales and customer service goals.
- Interact with customers via in‑person and phone conversations to meet financial needs through needs‑based conversations and sales fulfillment.
- Use strong sales skills to achieve individual and team sales and service goals.
- Educate customers on retail products and digital solutions that enhance the customer experience.
- Complete financial transactions accurately and efficiently in compliance with all policies.
- Identify complex financial needs and refer customers to bank specialists when appropriate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to provide an excellent customer experience both in‑person and over the phone.
- Ability to meet personal and branch sales and customer‑service expectations.
- Motivated and organized self‑starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Adaptable to a variety of situations with an optimistic outlook aligned with the company culture and core values.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1+ year(s) of sales or customer service experience. Experience in an environment with individual and team sales goals preferred.
Compensation & BenefitsHourly rate: $20.55 – $25.05, based on experience, skills, and competencies. Eligible for performance‑based incentive plans. Work ScheduleMonday – Friday: 7:45AM – 5:45PM
Saturday: 8:45AM – 12:15PM
