Electrician - Operations, position

Electrical Technician

This position is responsible for electrical services repair and replacement requests. This position is expected to install, maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical equipment. This position is part of the maintenance team and reports to the lead electrician.

Primary duties/responsibilities include:

• Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and schematics of electrical systems.
• Coordinating with assigned lead/supervisor and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
• Documenting activities and conveying information through written reports.
• Estimating equipment and/or materials needed to complete work projects.
• Fabricating equipment parts meeting specialty needs and replacing unavailable parts.
• Identifying causes of electrical problems for equipment and system repair.
• Informing the team regarding procedures, status of work orders, and providing necessary information for making decisions complying with standards and regulations.
• Installing electrical system components providing enhanced and upgraded electrical capabilities.

• Maintaining equipment, facilities, tools, and vehicle ensuring safe operating condition.
• Maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete installations/repairs.
• Monitoring equipment, facilities, and tools condition and recommending maintenance and repairs.
• Participating in meetings, trainings, seminars, and workshops.
• Removing snow ensuring parking lots and sidewalks are safe for people and vehicles.
• Repairing electrical components and systems ensuring a safe working condition.
• Responding to after hours and emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concern.
• Requesting and transporting equipment, supplies, and tools for job sites.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and experience requirements:

• Demonstrate understanding of verbal and written communication and ability to speak and write at a level sufficient to perform the duties of the job.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
• Highly collaborative team player.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Firm adherence to safety practices.

Physical requirements:

This position requires the performance of heavy work which may include exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position involves all environmental working conditions which include but not limited to extreme cold/heat, close quarters, hazards, loud noises, and vibration. The position also requires frequent balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.

The position also requires occasional fingering and repetitive motion.
