** The City of Olathe is currently recruiting for our next
** Facility Maintenance
** team member with a background in a specialized trade such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Building Automation. Our Facilities Maintenance Team plays a vital role in maintaining the functionality of City buildings used by the public and City employees.

* About The Role:
** This is a key position within the Facilities Maintenance Team which works together to meet the needs of our City. A typical day could include using building automation systems to perform advanced troubleshooting of HVAC systems, performing an electrical or plumbing repair, responding to a security or fire alarm, monitoring email for newly assigned work orders, and working with a team member on a more complex repair.
Our Facilities Team members are expected to provide excellent customer service and timely updates to our internal customers.
** To be qualified for a Facilities Craftsperson I:

* Experience:
** Six years of increasingly responsible experience in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or a related field is required. Must have the ability to work independently and in a variety of environments along with excellent customer service skills.

* Education:
** A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Specialized training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or a related trade or craft is preferred. Additional relevant and progressively more responsible experience may be substituted for education.
** Licenses &
Certifications:
** A valid driver’s license and favorable driving record are required. Specialized certification in a relevant trade is preferred.
** Pay:** $23.75 to $29.11/hour, depending on experience
** To be qualified for a Facilities Craftsperson II:

* Experience:
** Five years of experience in specialized trade(s) (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Building Automation) performing at a journeyman/equivalent or above level (Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification or equivalent is required for HVAC specialty). Must have a comprehensive knowledge of commercial and institutional carpentry, painting, and masonry trades as well as considerable knowledge of plumbing and electrical trades. Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in building maintenance and service is also required.

* Education:
** A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The completion of a Vo-Tech program/certification, associate’s degree, or equivalent, in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related craft or trade is preferred.
** Licenses &
Certifications:
** A valid driver’s license and favorable driving record are required. Certification in specialized trade (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Building Automation) is preferred.
** Pay:** $25.50 to $31.81/hour, depending on experience

* Schedule:
** 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday Will participate in an on-call rotation
