(Apprentice, Journeyman and Mobile) - Olathe, KS

Hourly Pay

$30–$50/hr.,; compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, certifications, education, and demonstrated skills.

Hours of Work

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – DAY SHIFT

  • Mobile Technicians must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as required to support business and operational needs.

Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, background investigation, physical abilities assessment, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

What You’ll Do

As a Diesel Technician, you’ll maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks to keep our customers on the road. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Performing preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Completing repairs ranging from minor fixes to major overhauls
  • Disassembling and reassembling components accurately and efficiently
  • Documenting work with clear, detailed service notes
  • Utilize computer-based diagnostic systems, manufacturer software, and electronic tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, document, and repair diesel-powered equipment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B, within six (6) months of employment, as required for the position. Nextran has processes and resources available to support employees in obtaining their CDL. Employees must also maintain any required endorsements, certifications, and qualifications necessary to safely and legally operate company vehicles.
  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Ability to utilize computer systems and electronic applications for recordkeeping, communication, scheduling, and other job‑related functions
