The Field Electrician is responsible for installing conduit, wiring, electrical panels, and motor control systems for refrigeration equipment. The role includes troubleshooting during installations, working with high-voltage systems, and collaborating with the field construction team. Extensive travel is required.
Key Duties- Run conduit, wiring, and connect electrical components such as disconnects, switches, circuit panels, transformers, and wire terminations
- Install and test medium/high voltage automation and motor control systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical layout and functionality issues during installations
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Maintain and diagnose issues with PLC sensors and control wiring
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and electrical testing equipment
- Assist with general construction duties including insulation, welding, and painting
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience
- Proficiency with rigid conduit bending and installation (up to 4 inches)
- Knowledge of three-phase motor systems and 480v AC motor control circuits
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel nationwide
- Ability to operate industrial lifts and equipment
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions with appropriate PPE
- Must pass pre-employment and regular drug testing
- Pre-employment background and driving record check (no DUI in the past 5 years)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise)
- Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely
- Experience with PLC installation and troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and field problem-solving skills
