Salary Range: $47,000.00 To $49,000.00 Annually
We are looking for a Missing Youth Specialists to join our team and provide support and oversight to permanency staff in their effort to locate missing youth. Join us and help make a difference!
Location: Olathe, KS
What we are looking for:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required;
Master’s Degree Preferred from an accredited college or university with a degree in social work, counseling, family therapy, child and family development, criminal justice, sociology, forensics, education or other related field - Experience: 2 years experience with children and family services
- Current valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance required
- Licensure: License with the Kansas BSRB preferred
- Flexibility in working hours,
What you will do:
- Conduct online and in-person searches to locate missing youth.
- Serve as liaison with law enforcement and community agencies.
- Track and analyze data to identify trends and provide weekly updates to DCF.
- Utilize various methods (door knocking, social media, etc.) to find missing youth.
- Assist in training staff and researching new search methods.
- Complete assessments on returning youth and provide Family Finding investigative efforts.
- Advocate for children and families and represent the agency in professional/community groups.
- Ensure paperwork is completed timely and attend all required meetings.
- Develop resources and improve contract outcomes.
