Job Overview
Transdev in Olathe, Kansas is hiring a Utility Worker – Bus Fueler/Cleaner. This employee is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties and is expected to be customer service‑oriented and dedicated to safety.
Benefits- Competitive compensation package: $18.50–$23.00 per hour.
- Vacation: 1 week after 1 year of service.
- Sick days: 5 days per year.
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating).
- Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability.
Monday through Friday: 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM. Shift assignment may vary based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior.
- Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles.
- Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log and record all fluid usage.
- Download drive camera footage and probe fare boxes.
- Perform light maintenance at shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities.
- Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outside, working alone in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped, slippery, and uneven surfaces.
- Push/pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel or crouch to items stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
