Position Title
Specialist Distribution and Logistics – Full Time, Olathe Hospital
OverviewSpecialist Distribution and Logistics are responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage and shipment of product at the local level. They handle functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transportation, storage, delivery, and ensuring an efficient flow of products from request through put away.
Responsibilities- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to process orders accurately, including creating, picking, quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, packing, loading, receiving, put-away, replenishment, recall processing, expiration checks, PAR optimization, cycle counts, sub‑ and back‑order management, and preparation for delivery.
- Facilitate efficient flow of products from receipt to delivery for internal and external customers.
- Coaching and providing feedback to team members and trainees.
- Perform housekeeping and inventory control tasks, maintain a clean work environment, and comply with all safety, regulatory, and LEAN requirements.
- Participate in projects or duties assigned by management.
- Unload and sort material to be stocked or replenished between locations.
- Adapt to a fast‑paced environment while meeting department and individual performance goals.
- Use Microsoft Office products and general computer skills.
- Work overtime hours as necessary to meet business needs.
- Required:
High School Graduate or GED; 2+ years of related experience in a fast‑paced environment, customer service, or distribution. - Preferred: 3+ years of LEAN experience; 3+ years in a healthcare environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work and adapt in a fast and dynamic organization.
- Maintain proficiency for departmental and system training requirements.
- Work across departmental lines to complete tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional initiative, strong interpersonal capabilities, and ability to meet productivity and quality requirements.
