Position: CODE ENFORCEMENT - HHS SUBCODE OFFICIAL

Township of Old Bridge is seeking an HHS Subcode Official

Requirements: Must meet requirements as defined in Chapter 23 of the State Statutes known as Uniform Construction Code of the State of NJ NJAC 5:23 et seq. for the License of Subcode, possession of a valid NJ HHS license from NJDCA as required in NJAC 5:23.

General Requirements: Possession of a valid NJ Driver's License.

Knowledge and Abilities
  • Must possess a Building Sub Code Official HHS License in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:23-5.7 and N.J.A.C. 5:23-5.8.
  • Candidate is required to have considerable knowledge of the NJ Uniform Construction Code and its adopted Subcodes, and all other state and local regulations as may apply.
  • Considerable knowledge of the Uniform Construction Code and of approved methods of inspection.
  • Coordinate work schedule with inspectors and all concerned personnel.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position; communication may include such forms as American Sign Language or Braille.
  • Prepare clear, sound, accurate and information reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Meet with people, listen and troubleshoot, effectively, and provide superior customer service.
  • Establish and maintain needed records and files and learn to utilize various types of electronic information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
  • Supervise inspectors in the field to ensure code compliance and superior customer service.
