Role Description The Assistant Director of Preschool Daycare Center is a full-time, on-site role located in Old Bridge, NJ. This role supports the Director in overseeing daily center operations, including classroom activities, staff scheduling, and adherence to licensing and safety standards. The Assistant Director helps implement and refine the curriculum, supports teachers with classroom management and lesson planning, and ensures a positive, inclusive environment for children and families.

Responsibilities include communicating with families, assisting with enrollment and tours, monitoring budgets and resources, and maintaining records and compliance documentation. The role also involves mentoring staff, organizing school events, and promoting the Primrose philosophy of high-quality early education and care. Qualifications  Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education, Education, and experience with Kindergarten or preschool-age children.  Skills in Curriculum Development, including planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate learning activities.

Experience with Budgeting and resource management in an educational or childcare setting.  Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early learning.  Proven leadership, staff supervision, and team-building abilities in a school or childcare environment.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, staff, and community partners.  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field preferred.  

Previous experience in a preschool, daycare center, or similar early education setting, with some supervisory responsibilities, is highly beneficial.
