- Responsible for the safety of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Observes patient status for changes in behavior and reports all observations to the Registered Nurse
- Ensures patient safety by providing a safe environment, observes the patient's environments for safety risks and takes necessary steps to reduce the risk.
- Applies appropriate interventions: observe, redirect, diversional activities.
- Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Ensures positive patient and team interactions by promoting HMH core beliefs and standards.
- Maintains patient confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
- Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide, Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
Minimum rate of $17.12 hourly.
Job Duties & Additional CompensationCompensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness. The base compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, certifications, location, and internal equity. Shift differentials may apply for evening, night, or weekend shifts. The package may also include performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions. In addition to full‑time and part‑time (20+ hours per week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
