** Join Our Team as a CT Scan Technologist!** *
* Job Description:
** - Perform complex CT procedures and related techniques.
- Utilize professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical history, documenting and scanning into PACS.
- Prepare, screen, and ensure accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patients and/or family members, scanning into EPIC.
- Identify and administer contrast media for CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Review patient prescriptions to verify appropriateness of exams; communicate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians when needed.
- Clarify prescriptions in accordance with CT protocols by calling physicians as necessary.
- Verify insurance authorized exam scripts and send exam modification forms to Finance for re-verification.
- Collect outside studies (CD) and schedule them in EPIC for Radiologist comparison.
- Provide exam copies to patients and/or requesting physicians/family members.
- Evaluate radiographs using the PACS System for proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Gather relevant patient information to prepare safe scanning protocols.
- Determine patient preparation for procedures, ensuring necessary preparations such as shielding or immobilization devices.
- Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered.
- Offer clear explanations and instructions to patients, addressing questions and concerns.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency checks, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during procedures.
- Commit to scheduled shifts, including weekends, ensuring quality patient care.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
- Adapt care to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations (age, culture, language, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers at an appropriate developmental or educational level.
- Adhere to the organization’s Standards of Behavior and Competencies.
