Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant will own and manage daily accounting processes supporting the month‑end close for a multi‑entity manufacturing organization. This is a high‑visibility role with direct exposure to SOX compliance, audits, and system‑driven process improvements—well suited for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and wants to deepen technical accounting expertise while influencing how the close is executed.
Core Responsibilities- Support the full monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close cycle, including preparation of journal entries
- Prepare, review, and reconcile balance sheet accounts within the Black Line system in compliance with company policy and SOX requirements
- Manage monthly financial reporting, including balance sheet analytics, cash flow statements, and capital expenditure tracking
- Maintain and support complex accounts, including Deferred Sales, Rebate Accruals, Intangible Assets, Prepaid Expenses, and Other Liabilities
- Perform Budget vs. Actual analysis of SG&A spend
- Assist with internal and external audit requests throughout the year
- Ensure compliance with Sales & Use tax and property tax requirements
- Support accounting projects focused on process optimization and efficiency improvements
- Complete ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to month‑end close in a manufacturing or multi‑entity environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements; self‑starter mentality
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and the broader Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system
