Structural Bridge Engineer

McNary Bergeron & Johannesen is seeking an entry-level and/or mid-level structural bridge engineer for our Connecticut office.

Our extensive practical experience, knowledge of construction, and problem solving ability, coupled with innovative design, allows us to provide constructible cost-effective solutions to meet the technical challenges of building today’s bridges.

• Perform basic analysis on structures to determine demands
• Design members and connections to support construction activities from steel, concrete, and timber
• Communicate details and designs via drawings
• Prepare calculations in support of original designs
• Solving unique problems and exercise creativity
• Communicate with clients and maintain relationships

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus on structural engineering
• 0 to 5 years experience in a related field, and be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Organized and hard-working
• Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD or Microstation
• Experience or coursework in steel, concrete, and timber design with relevant codes (AASHTO, AISC, ACI, NDS)
