We are seeking a self‑motivated professional to serve as a Business Development Representative. This position is newly created at the company so it is an amazing opportunity to help define the role, rise to the challenge and prove your value.
EssentialSkills:
- Comfortable making cold calls and adept at getting past the gatekeepers, identifying the decision makers, and then working closely with inside sales account managers and management to turn the lead into a valued customer.
- Hunter or huntress with strong computer research skills who can take an idea, run with it, and make things happen.
- Creative and organized: able to formulate a plan, develop it, budget it out, and propose it to management in a clear and succinct manner. This is a "smile and dial" role; the ability to stay positive in the face of adversity, to be flexible and teachable is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
- 1+ years of inside or outside sales experience, or 3+ years of customer service, or a born sales person who can prove they have the gift.
- BS/BA in related discipline preferred or commensurate skill and experience is always a plus.
- Excellent computing skills with a working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and the CRM system:
Salesforce. - Inside position with occasional travel for trade shows or customer visits.
Battery Junction is seeking an exceptional inside salesperson to join our team as an Account Manager. The Account Manager’s primary responsibility is to prospect new customers and enhance existing relationships with key channel partners. This important role includes developing and building new business, negotiating variables and closing sales. The Account Manager will need to possess exceptional sales, problem solving and communication skills.
This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.
Skills:
- Identify and qualify prospective customers and cultivate beneficial relationships through emails, cold calls, referrals, trade shows and prospecting.
- Make outbound calls and develop new accounts to drive incremental volume.
- Establish goals – develop sales objectives and strategies with management and take the steps necessary to meet those goals.
- Develop an understanding of the battery and flashlights industries and various vertical markets. Learn and remain current on market conditions, new product launches, competition and pricing.
- Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs and trade shows as required.
- Demonstrate superior interpersonal/negotiation skills.
- Consistently maintain and accurately update information database.
- Organizational skills include setting up and maintaining customer files, and all aspects of launching new products and lines.
- Self‑motivate and manage time efficiently.
- Utilize strong oral and written communication skills to represent Battery Junction in a professional manner.
- Display the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of performance qualities.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills; a master of using phone & email to enhance sales growth. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to navigate and build relationships in and outside the organization. Works well in a team environment as well as independently. Creative thinker focused on driving new business.
- In depth understanding and working knowledge of the sales process, from prospect to qualifying including needs analysis, quoting and closing.
- Bilingual skill set a plus.
- 4+ years of commodity or distributor to retailer sales experience. BS/BA in related discipline preferred or commensurate skill and experience.
- Understanding of distribution of both commodity and consumer packaged goods as well as retail/reseller markets is a major plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, and system.
- Inside Sales position with occasional travel for trade shows or customer visits.
