Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Technician in Oldsmar, Florida for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports the performance, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment used in the CCA production process. The role works closely with operations, production leadership, and engineering teams to keep equipment running efficiently and support production quality and uptime.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- SMT experience
- General knowledge of mechanical hand tools and soldering equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills across process, product, and procedure issues
- Working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to diagnose failures, replace defective components and modules, and perform basic troubleshooting
- Ability to read and work from drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and written or verbal instructions
- Ability to maintain maintenance, inventory, and repair logs
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including possible weekend work and first or second shift assignments
- Successful completion of manufacturing training programs, PWB handling, first piece certification, component identification, and ESD requirements
- Ability to handle or work around chemicals used in the production area
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
- MyCronic pick-and-place experience
- Universal Instruments pick-and-place experience
- Koh Young or Yes Tech AOI experience
- SMT CCA inline wash experience
- MPM screen printer experience
- Associate degree or vocational certificate in a technical program
- Bachelor’s degree
What You’ll Do
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of inline manufacturing equipment
- Monitor, evaluate, report on, and improve the performance of manufacturing equipment and machines
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including immediate equipment repairs
- Diagnose failures and replace defective components or modules
- Use hand, power, and test tools to support equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support evaluation and possible redesign of basic optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for existing equipment
- Maintain maintenance, inventory, and repair records
- Work with production, process, quality, product, and test engineering teams to support equipment performance and production needs
Work Schedule / Shift
- Monday through Thursday
- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM EST
