Shift: Monday to Friday 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Pay rate:$17.00/hr. on W2
Position Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computerized numerical control (CNC) equipment including lasers, EDM CNC machining centers, CNC grinders, and various manual machines. This role ensures production quality, machine efficiency, workplace safety, and compliance with company quality standards and maintenance programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate assigned CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Operate lasers, CNC/EDM machining centers, CNC grinders, and other production machinery.
- Perform machining operations according to engineering specifications and work instructions.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect and verify part quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine setup and operational issues.
- Maintain production standards, quality requirements, and workflow efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) Program requirements.
- Comply with CTQ (Critical to Quality) Program standards.
- Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.
- Adhere to the Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
- Assist with additional facility tasks and support production operations as needed.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in machining, machine operation, or CNC setup required.
- Experience using measuring equipment and performing machine setups.
- Basic CNC program editing knowledge preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and in-process documents.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to understand, follow, and communicate instructions in English.
- Frequent use of speech, vision, hearing, touch, and smell.
- Ability to lift and carry components weighing 10-35 lbs.
- Carry materials at waist level for short distances (approximately 10 feet).
- Material handling equipment must be used for loads exceeding 35 lbs.
Required PPE includes:
- Safety glasses/eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Hand protection and smock when necessary
This position operates in a manufacturing environment involving CNC machining equipment and industrial production processes. The role requires adherence to all workplace safety and quality standards.
