Our quality organization ensures products are built, inspected, accepted, and delivered in compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements while driving production excellence and continuous improvement.

This requisition is for a Quality Manager supporting manufacturing operations within the Electronics Production Center. This leader will provide strategic oversight of inspection supervision, product acceptance, and first article inspection while partnering with Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, and Program teams to ensure quality, compliance, delivery, and execution objectives are achieved. This role leads multiple quality teams through leaders and employees, including two supervisors, as well as the Product Acceptance team and the First Article Inspection team.

These organizations support in-process and final product acceptance activities, interface with customer representatives including DCMA, and ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9102, engineering requirements, and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead teams responsible for inspection, product acceptance, and first article inspection.
  • Ensure products meet engineering, contractual, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee product acceptance and delivery processes in accordance with established procedures and program requirements.
  • Ensure effective execution of First Article Inspection processes, including AS9102 compliance and validation to drawings and requirements.
  • Drive compliance to AS9100 and ensure effective implementation of the quality management system.
  • Ensure quality requirements are identified, flowed down, and effectively implemented.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Production, Quality Engineering, and Program Leadership to resolve issues and improve execution.
  • Establish business rhythm, staffing alignment, work priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Lead talent activities including selection, training, development, performance assessment, recognition, and corrective action, as appropriate.
  • Use quality and operational metrics to identify trends, address adverse performance, reduce escapes, and drive improvement.
  • Support risk and opportunity management, cost commitments, and financial responsibilities.
  • Represent the organization in quality-related discussions with leadership, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

You are a strategic quality leader with strong manufacturing insight and a passion for building high-performing teams. You know how to lead through others, align organizations, and translate requirements into disciplined execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience leading quality, inspection, product acceptance, or manufacturing quality teams in a production environment.
  • Experience managing leaders and/or supervisors in support of quality operations.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements and AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards, such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and/or J-STD-001.
  • Prior experience supporting or overseeing production of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), cable assemblies, box assemblies, or similar electronic hardware commodities.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, product requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience interfacing with Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, and customer/government representatives on quality and product acceptance matters.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and quality systems such as Solumina, SAP, Apriso, or similar production/quality management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for program support.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired

Skills:

  • Experience leading product acceptance, inspection, or first article inspection operations in electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with DCMA interaction and customer acceptance processes.
  • Experience using quality metrics to drive strategic improvements in defects, escapes, throughput, and process performance.
  • Knowledge of Tableau or similar reporting/visualization tools for quality and operational metrics.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience driving process standardization, workforce development, and continuous improvement across multiple teams.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-accountability manufacturing environment with multiple competing priorities.
