Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and according to standard procedure, prepares and dispenses medications after review of a physician's order. Participates in designated patient medication monitoring activities as defined by department procedure. The Pharmacist will provide supervision of Pharmacy technicians and their roles and responsibilities.

Education And Credentials

Pharm.

D or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania as a pharmacist. Must be eligible for licensure in the state of New York. Pharmacist not licensed in the state of New York will be allowed ninety (90) days to obtain a New York State license from start date. Valid driver's license.

Experience

Prior hospital experience preferred. The ability to work independently; the ability to learn new routines; the ability to supervise technicians as necessary; good verbal communication. Able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist at any facility over which the SDOP has purview.
