Perform activities related to pre-registration, insurance verification, authorization, and pre-certification to achieve financial clearance for services;
Advise patients of their financial responsibilities and identify monies due according to policies;
Coordinate referrals to Hospital Financial Counselors for uninsured or underinsured patients;
Interview patients/guarantors to obtain demographic, confidential clinical and financial information necessary to obtain treatment authorizations and verify insurance eligibility;
Gather and record information that lays the groundwork for future fiscal efforts of the hospital network
