Your Contribution:
The Maintenance Intern provides administrative and purchasing support to ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders while supporting maintenance part inventory and vendor scheduling.
- Create and submit purchase requisitions (PRs) in SAP accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor the status of purchase requisitions and follow up with approvers to ensure prompt approval and release.
- Coordinate with buyers to ensure purchase orders (POs) are created and processed within required timelines.
- Communicate professionally with vendors via phone and email regarding procurement-related inquiries, order status, and delivery schedules.
- Set up and maintain maintenance part records in company systems, ensuring accurate descriptions and data entry.
- Manage and track maintenance parts inventory levels to support operational requirements.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be required.
Your Experience &
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Industrial Maintenance and/or Industrial Electricity certifications preferred. - Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Previous experience in administrative support, purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or customer service preferred.
- SAP experience with purchasing and inventory management processes highly desirable; exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, perform basic inventory and purchasing calculations, follow up on open items, and maintain accurate records.
