- Over 4,000 Full‑Time Associates across the Supply Chain
- 14.5M square feet of small parcel, personalization, furniture, and manufacturing space in the domestic US;
Williams‑Sonoma has developed an agile and capable distribution network consisting of the following: - Large package / furniture distribution centers located in Southern California, Northern California, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey totaling 9.2M square feet plus another 1.2M square feet of standalone final‑mile furniture hubs.
- Small package eCommerce distribution centers located in Mississippi and Arizona totaling 3.2M square feet, consisting of over 1,000 full‑time associates and 1,500 seasonal/temporary associates in Mississippi
- Sutter Street Manufacturing upholstery factories located in North Carolina and Mississippi totaling with over 1,400 full‑time employees producing approximately $900 million to $1 billion in sales of upholstered furniture
- Transportation Department for Ocean, Air, Trucking, and Rail consisting of over 30 transportation professionals located in Memphis, TN
- 700 associates in our Sourcing offices in 10 countries in Asia and Europe including China, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Italy, and Turkey
- Lead and supervise the engineering team; hire, train, develop, assess and empower staff to achieve the department's goals;
- Lead development of business practices across our domestic warehousing network;
- Analyze processes and systems across the supply chain and leverage cross‑functional partnerships to drive process improvement;
- Provide thought‑leadership and innovative ideas to solve supply chain problems;
- Create standard operating procedures and labor standards for all warehousing processes, and maintain the engineering configuration for Labor Management platforms where applicable;
- Lead capital projects – gather requirements, create layouts and process flows, manage vendors and budgets, and maintain communication with all stakeholders;
- Lead project development and justification including vendor selection, cost‑benefit analysis, and ROI estimation.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a similar engineering discipline;
- At least 7–10 years successful experience in engineering roles that support operations;
- This is an onsite and in‑office role;
- Demonstrated success in the management of people and very strong leadership traits;
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating processes and identifying areas for improvement;
- Organization and communication skills – demonstrable talent with collaboration, presentation, planning, negotiation, and root cause determination;
- Adaptability to changing business requirements and technologies, and strong critical thinking to implement effective solutions;
