Garver’s Transportation Design Center is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Franklin, TN or Olive Branch, MS office. A remote or hybrid arrangement is negotiable. This position works with in‑house engineers, designers, and technicians to provide technical expertise in all areas needed to deliver sound inspections and reports.

This role will primarily perform SNBI bridge inspection tasks, including field inspection and associated office work. It includes travel across Tennessee and occasional other states. Opportunities to collaborate on load rating and bridge rehabilitation are available.

• Perform routine inspection of bridges and culverts to SNBI and state standards as Inspection Team Leader
• Coordinate site visits for inspection
• Assist with underwater inspections
• Follow company’s standard procedures for documenting inspections
• Upload daily inspection files to specialized interface
• Bridge inspection data entry
• Perform field work, including carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, and in hot or cold weather
• Perform NSTM inspections

• National Highway Institute (NHI) Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-­Service Bridges)
• Minimum 5–10 years of related experience
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

• National Highway Institute (NHI) Course No. 130078 (Fracture Critical Techniques for Steel Bridges)
• National Highway Institute (NHI) Course No. 130091 (Underwater Bridge Inspection)
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET program
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in TN
• Experience with InspectX
• Experience with Micro Station
• Experience with AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software
