Job Overview
Search Solution Group is seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist on behalf of our client, a logistics and supply chain management organization that offers reverse logistics, finished goods operations, and repair services. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure across plant operations, including desktops, servers, networks, and disaster recovery systems. The IT Technical Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring operational continuity, system reliability, and technical support for end users and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Implement standards established by system and network engineering teams related to desktop support, WAN/LAN infrastructure, servers, and disaster recovery.
- Provide second-level diagnostic support for desktops, servers, network systems, and related technologies.
- Support the Service Desk and Engineering Teams with issue resolution and escalation management.
- Create and update technical documentation, work instructions, and procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in a global on-call support rotation and respond to incidents within required response times.
- Monitor service desk alerts and emails, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
- Provide weekend change management support while on call.
- Follow and enforce incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Identify and elevate security concerns in accordance with company IT security procedures.
- Ensure IT hardware is properly tracked throughout its lifecycle following purchasing and asset management procedures.
- Provide onsite support for new facility launches, server upgrades, and network refresh projects.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional training and certifications combined with relevant work experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two years of related IT support experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience supporting desktop environments, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced operational or logistics environment preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to document technical processes and procedures clearly and accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations professionally.
- Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, or similar are a plus.
- Strong understanding of desktop hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Working knowledge of WAN/LAN environments, network systems, and protocols.
- Familiarity with server hardware and operating systems.
- Understanding of IT change management, incident management, and security practices.
