Summary
Generates bills of lading and other documents required for the shipment of product. Performs data entry functions for orders. Arranges for daily carrier pickup. Maintains records within the department. Processes freight claims. Communicates with all departments. Departmental reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare bills of lading.
- Contact carriers for shipments.
- Export shipping documentation.
- Bill as needed in NAMAS / SAP.
- Export invoice processing.
- Calculate custom duties, taxes, NAFTA.
- Follow procedures and file documents/record keeping.
- Handle multiple tasks daily.
- Assist with projects as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education & Experience- Minimum 2‑year degree from an accredited university or college.
- 3 to 4 years minimum experience in logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Accounting experience in invoicing.
Fluent in English. Working‑level second language skills are a plus. Able to write routine reports, correspondence and communicate effectively verbally and writtenly with peers, managers, directors, and customers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply mathematical calculations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical DemandsRequires sitting, use of hands, fingers, eyes, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Must be able to listen and speak up to 95% of the day. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentNoise generally minimal in the office environment. Must adhere to safety procedures and rules.
Work HoursEmployees may work additional hours and/or days during the payroll week exceeding 40 hours. Overtime may be required.
Travel RequirementsDomestic or international travel with or without overnight stay may be required.
