Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manufacturing supervisors, production leads, and production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Oversee all pack-out operations to ensure product is accurately packed, quality standards are met, and shipments are completed efficiently, and on schedule.

Manage packaging materials, crates, and packing supplies by maintaining inventory, ensuring proper usage, and enforcing safety and compliance standards throughout pack-out operations.

Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, program management, IT, and quality assurance departments to resolve potential shop floor and inventory control discrepancies.

Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures throughout the manufacturing pack-out process, ensuring products meet internal/external specifications and industry standards.

Manage manufacturing budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Oversee pack out equipment maintenance and calibration programs to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

Prepare and present regular reports on manufacturing performance, including key metrics such as production output, quality, and efficiency.

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 1 to 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of successfully leading and developing manufacturing teams.
Strong understanding and practical experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools.
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, inventory control, and quality management systems.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Knowledge of relevant industry safety standards and regulations.

Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including occasional lifting to 50lbs.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity.
Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required.
Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.
