Responsibilities
Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility) provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid‑South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. At Parkwood, our caring staff focus on providing compassionate care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities.
We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148‑bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. For more information, visit
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The RN prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.
The RN may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Schedule:
12‑hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; BSN preferred.
Experience: One (1) year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.
Licensure: Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi‑state license as approved by NCSBN.
Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age‑specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female children, adolescents and adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.
