Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid‑South region. The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care on a designated unit in accordance with the facility’s philosophy and objectives. Duties include prescribing, coordinating, and delegating nursing care using the nursing process integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and promotes and enhances professional nursing practice on the unit and may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

  12‑hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
  • Rotating days

Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program required; BSN preferred.

Experience: One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure: Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or multi‑state license approved by NCSBN.

CPR: Current CPR or BLS certification.

Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age‑specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, and CPR training.
