Backend Developer

Overview

42Q is an industry‑leading, fully‑featured cloud‑based Manufacturing Execution System. 42Q is looking for a backend developer to create highly reliable solutions for our clients in a range of manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced developers and contribute to a highly distributed and dynamic environment.

This position allows you to design and build applications that interface between systems to satisfy customer requirements. The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience in a Linux environment using C++ and strong SQL query experience.

• Create new backend applications based on defined requirements
• Suggest and implement improvements to existing systems
• Design features and subsystems with scalable methodologies and optimal transaction turnaround time
• Provide APIs and develop utilities for data updates and transfers
• Develop and support enterprise‑wide applications deployed to an AWS cloud environment
• Collaborate closely with other teams in a distributed setting

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise‑level systems
• Strong C++ skills in a Linux environment
• In‑depth knowledge of relational database design, management, and SQL coding
• Experience with source code version control (SVN/GIT), CI/CD pipelines, PostgreSQL, and web services (preferred)
• Experience with AWS services (preferred)
• Proficiency in multicore/multithreaded application development
• Experience with C/C++ embedded software (considered a plus)
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
