- Plan, organize, and monitor receiving and distribution of merchandise from suppliers.
- Maintain high receiving productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain staffing levels for the receiving mission.
- Plan and coordinate work; train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate receiving associates.
- Develop crew leaders to oversee assigned crew members.
- Maintain equipment levels and structure for safe, effective receiving operations.
- Monitor merchandise unloading, staging, receiving reports, shipment completeness, and shipment condition.
- Resolve discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Monitor paperwork flow from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
- Measure receiving performance and locator and receiving-report accuracy.
- Prepare bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
- Lead and supervise receiving agents.
- Counsel, record, and discipline associates as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the receiving department.
- Direct shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
