Overview
The Dietitian provides nutrition education and counseling to clinic patients and patient groups. Assesses the nutritional needs of the outpatient, develops and implements a nutrition care plan. Develops and implements programs for the general public, community organizations and for professional staff.
Qualifications- Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Bachelor's Degree:
Related Field (Required)
- Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals.
- Identify and provide age‑specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of patients and their families.
- Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
- Develop, review, update and implement educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
- Participate in the scheduled test tray program.
- Provide learning experience for dietetic interns as outlined in their program.
- Assist with in‑service training for diet office personnel and staff.
- Assist in the development of patient education materials.
- Provide continual monitoring of patients on assigned nursing units to ensure quality of nutrition care services.
The compensation range for this position is $26.1 per hour - $43.59 per hour. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
