Overview

Assume the responsibilities for direct care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider in patient care departments. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)

• Provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN, mid-level provider or physician.
• Report patient response to a registered nurse/provider for evaluation, intervention, and modification of the plan of care.
• Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards.
• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by unit specific to scope of service.
• Provide patients medications utilizing the five rights.
• Perform routine patient care involving hygiene care, including routine rounding of patients.
• Document care.
• Receive bedside report from offgoing nurse at the beginning of each shift and update communication board.
• Effectively communicate within the health care team to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.

The compensation range for this position is $23.90 per hour – $39.91 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
