The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Qualifications
  • Certification:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • License:
    Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Education:

    College Diploma in Nursing

Responsibilities
  • Provide and facilitate competent health care for patients and families in area of practice.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
  • Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  • Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  • Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve quality of care or clinical outcomes.
  • Conduct telephone triage, including results, reports, symptom-based encounters utilizing the RSOAP method and MRI screening.
  • Manage Jackson‑Pratt drain removals.
  • Set up sterile procedures and assist with sterile minor procedures in the office.
  • Provide specialized surgical nurse teaching instructions to patients scheduled for surgery, specific to the surgery performed (over the phone or in person).
  • Process lab specimens to send to the lab after the provider collects them.
  • Administer allergy injections, skin testing, intradermals, nebulizer treatment, Xolair injections.
  • Obtain prior authorization for surgery scheduling.
  • Serve as surgery scheduler.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $27.25 per hour – $45.51 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
