Certification Details
- Staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for a group of patients during designated time frames providing care using nursing process, trends, technology, and resources within institutional philosophy.
- Performs unit-specific responsibilities within scope of service.
- Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops plans of care based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards and incidents.
- Communicates effectively to resolve issues and provides constructive feedback for peer development.
- Identifies personal learning needs and fulfills departmental competencies.
- Department specific:
Provides direct care to CVMS patients including post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients. - Maintains clean and tidy work environment and performs hourly rounding on patients.
- Proactively assists internal and external customers.
Job Details
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
- Required
Education:
ASN. - Preferred Education:
BSN. - Required Certifications & Licensure:
Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association).
Job Requirements
- Night shift.
- 3 shifts per week.
- 12 hours per shift.
- Total 36 hours per week.
Schedule Information
- Unit:
Cardiovascular Medical-Surgical (CV Med Srg). - Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients.
- Focus on postoperative care, hourly rounding, and maintaining unit competencies.
