Certification Details
- The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.
- Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
- Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care for use by the healthcare team.
- Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
- Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
- Offers constructive feedback to assist in professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge.
- Identifies own learning needs and initiates appropriate solutions.
- Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.
- Department specific functions include assessing ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift, educating patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, care transition needs, coordinating with physicians and surgeons, delegating and monitoring interventions of healthcare team staff, setting up ortho traction and manipulating surgical traction devices, managing wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices.
Job Details
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
- Illinois state RN License in good standing.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
Job Requirements
- Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
- 12 hours per day.
- 36 hours per week.
Schedule Information
- Unit focuses on Orthopedic Inpatient care and medical/surgical patients.
- Responsibilities include ortho traction setup and surgical traction device manipulation.
- Management of wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices.
Unit Specific Information
- Candidate must have current Trauma 1 listed by the facility.
- EPIC experience required.
