Certification Details
- Staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for a group of patients during designated time frames.
- Provides care using nursing process, trends, technology, financial and human resources within institutional philosophy.
- Performs unit-specific responsibilities within scope of service.
- Implements procedures and theories related to surgical nursing practice.
- Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops plans of care based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards and incidents.
- Communicates effectively to resolve issues and provides constructive feedback for peer development.
- Identifies own learning needs and fulfills departmental competencies.
- Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
- Monitors and cares for newly tracheostomies.
- Assesses and manages wounds requiring wound vac and complex wound care.
- Educates patients and families on new ostomies.
- Collaborates with general surgical and OMFS residency services.
Job Details
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
- Trauma 1 experience required.
- EPIC experience required.
- Required
Education:
ASN. - Preferred Education:
BSN. - Required
Certifications:
Illinois state RN License in good standing. - Required
Certifications:
BLS (American Heart Association).
Job Requirements
- Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
- 12 hours per day.
- 36 hours per week.
Schedule Information
- Unit provides post-operative care for complex surgical population.
- Manages patients with tracheostomies, complex wounds including wound vacs, and new ostomies.
- Collaborates with surgical and oral maxillofacial surgery residency services.
