The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA);
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR),
Education:
College Diploma:

Work Experience:
Responsibilities Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice. Reviews physician's orders and carries out orders in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Dispenses sample drugs according to policy and procedure, completing log book with the required information. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups. Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes. Assists with procedures, observing general standard precautions. Telephone triage for any patient or parent who calls in. Triage of patients could be a young as birth thru the lifespan. Patient Notification of test results for any testing patient has completed.
Patient refills for any medications. May be related to Hypertension, Diabetes, COPD or any diagnosis that may affect an infant to an adult thru their lifespan Nurse visits for injections, BP checks- age ranges from birth thru the lifespan Patient triage in office for any patient or parent who walks in. Triage of patients could be a young as birth thru the lifespan.
Schedules tests to be done on patients through the ancillary departments of the hospital.
Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $33.11per hour - $53.88per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
