Overview
Work schedule can be flexible and coordinated with school schedules.
Responsibilities- Assume direct care of assigned patients under the supervision of an RN or provider.
- Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
- Report patient responses to a registered nurse or provider for evaluation, intervention, and modification of the plan of care.
- Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
- Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards.
- Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit that are specific to the scope of service.
- Administer patient medications using the five rights.
- Conduct routine patient care, including hygiene care, routine rounding, and documentation.
- Receive bedside report from the outgoing nurse at the beginning of each shift and update the communication board.
- Communicate effectively within the health–care team to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certificate of Completion for Licensed Practical Nurse.
- College diploma in Nursing (if applicable).
- Prior work experience in a healthcare setting.
The compensation range for this position is $25.73 per hour to $41.87 per hour.
