American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Acute Care/Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill patients receiving multidisciplinary therapies
- Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 40 hours per week across 5 shifts of 8 hours each
- Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Experience assisting with intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion and care
- Experience working with ventilated patients for early mobility
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
- Supervise and delegate patient care tasks to nursing assistants and health care technicians (HCTs), validating task completion
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure best patient outcomes
- Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and whiteboards to ensure communication with patients and families
- Apply critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient condition
- Report to Nurse Manager and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of care provided
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
