Adult Protective Services Caseworker – Olney

Qualifications: College degree required as approved by the Illinois Department on Aging. Must be competent in Microsoft Office and possess good word composition skills. Must demonstrate initiative, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current auto insurance, ability to conduct visits in homes that can be difficult to maneuver, be able to stand for an extended period, and be able to lift 25 lbs.

Work Hours: This is a full‑time position - 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.

The Adult Protective Services Caseworker must complete training through the Illinois Department on Aging and 40 hours of Domestic Violence Training. Employment is contingent on successful background checks through the Illinois State Police and the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).

Successful candidates must have good word composition skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, complete all case notes/documentation in a web‑based program with the Illinois Department on Aging and sign the strict Adult Protective Services Code of Ethics.

Caseworkers are reimbursed monthly for mileage at the current IRS rate.

Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current automobile insurance, and be able to lift 25 pounds.

Full‑time position: 40 hours per week, Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 8 pm to 4 am (Tuesday & Wednesday off). Overtime hours may be available.

Responsibilities: The Client Advocate carries out individual and group services with adults and children as directed by Case Workers and Shelter Supervisor, completes intakes and documentation in client files promptly, and performs housekeeping tasks at the Shelter.

Background Checks: Employment is contingent on successful background checks through DCFS and the Illinois State Police. Must complete 40 hours of domestic violence training and respond to the SWAN 24/7 domestic violence hotline.
