American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, Cerner proficiency, and MD or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work setting is a hospital-based Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting system:
Cerner (required)
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: ENCP and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment to be considered — first-time travelers may be considered with Cerner experience and a strong profile
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Skills required:
IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, respiratory care, and isolation precautions/PPE - Preferred skills: central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, and triage
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Driver's license required for local status determination
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on the lethal rhythms section prior to clearance
- Candidates who were previously employed at Med Star must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
- No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
