DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment requiring general surgery experience, prior travel experience, and MD or compact RN licensure.
Details- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with 8-hour or ) and 12-hour ) flex shifts
- On-call requirements include up to 5 shifts per 6-week schedule, averaging around 3 shifts, mostly weekends
- One 12-hour 'buddy call' shift required within the first two weeks, typically scheduled on weekends
- Case types include vascular, gynecology, plastics, orthopedic, neuro, urology, podiatry, general surgery, endoscopic, and bariatric procedures
- Utilizes robotics systems including Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active RN license - MD state license or compact license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of general surgery experience required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, orthopedic, neuro, urology, and general surgery cases
- Responsible for administration of blood and blood products, conscious sedation monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and wound management
- Follow infection control, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
- Perform universal protocol (time-out) procedures and specimen handling/labeling
- Scrubs are provided
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Previous Med Star employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required

In compliance with state pay transparency laws, we disclose that the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $2,443 - $2,677. The $2,677 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
